The Surprise For The Machines...
My graduation gift from 6th grade was a pong computer game. I must of spent that whole Summer playing that game. Two vertical lines and a dot. That was the height of entertainment in 1976. When I see what passes for a video game now I literally feel like I'm 900 years old. The gamers left me in the dust after RBI 2 and TechmoBowl. I've never played Madden or HalfLife or Grand Theft Auto or any of that Wii stuff. I don't own an iPhone or a Blackberry or even a Bluetooth. Yet I've probably done more technically overwhelming things than anyone I know. I'm eternally grateful for Terapad, BlogTalkRadio, CityMax (yeah even them) and the 100's of other freeware platforms I've been able to master over the years. Whew!
But the web is getting crowded. You Tube itself takes up 10% of the bandwidth up here. Facebook has enough users to be the 4th most populated nation in the world if it was a country. We've gone from mass media to multimedia to social media and every re-launch has invited a new element of security, communication and technical obstables. It's time someone but the humans back in charge. Well I found us the dude!
