Holy Kilimanjaro Batman!
I remember thinking when the health care debates started in the Summer that they didn't 'name the cereal' right. No one from the Democrats, Progressives, or the feverish Obamanauts understood that the politically wonky words PUBLIC OPTION wouldn't have any meaning outside the beltway. So they are still down there kicking the can and re-wording this mongrel now as we move from sunblock to de-icers. That reminded me of another ill-fated campaign - Global Warming. It too has now fallen on it's own putard...and it still may get past the sleepwalking American public.
The whole Global Warming meme was doomed from the beginning because it described one side of the coin. In fact, all of these End of the World scenarios, be they religious, political, or scientifically backed are all lost to me. If any of them are right...we ALL die. So what's the effin difference?
They all have their divined remedies too. The faithful have their agenda. The hawks have their utopian ideals. And the green energy types have theirs. From this soma's seat, it's all stemming from our lost narrative. Somewhere upstream we shed the ability to put the linear elephant in the non-linear cage. Now it's too late. And we have to just settle for this mess that's here and make the best of it. The dissonance is deafening us.
